History[]
The handset was first codenamed the HTC Spark. It was officially announced by Microsoft and HTC on 11 October 2010 at the New York City launch event. It was later released only to European and Oceanic countries on 21 October 2010. On 26 May 2011, it was also released in the United States as Verizon Wireless' first and only Windows Phone.
